SpreadsheetWorld is providing leadership in offering a broad range of Excel/VBA services and in the development of Excel/VBA-based tools. Our toolboxes are designed to the highest user interface standards, and are priced to encourage their use by a broad Excel user base. We are also working closely with universities to make these tools readily available to students to support their fundamental studies. This will provide a large group of graduating engineers with knowledge and experience using SpreadsheetWorld toolboxes.

The object structure of Excel allows for other objects to become part of the Excel Add-Ins Collection. They can dock into the Excel environment and be switched on for use as needed without soaking up valuable computer resources. These objects are called Add-Ins. After they are added into the Excel Add-In list, they become immediately available for use from within Excel. Also, when referenced, they also become available to the Visual Basic side of Excel.

XLToolboxes
Software for Rapid Excel Based System Modeling
SpreadsheetWorld is actively developing a broad array of engineering toolboxes designed to support rapid Excel based system modeling. These toolboxes are managed by XLManager.

Each of the "toolboxes" are essentially advanced add-ins for Excel consisting of useful wizards and computational functions used to solve problems in engineering, finance and accounting, and other disciplines. SpreadsheetWorld’s toolboxes utilize advanced features which are taught in our workshops, such as user defined functions, dynamic link libraries, online help files, and full-featured menus and toolbars. Once XLManager is installed on a user’s system, it is used to install/uninstall and load/unload SpreadsheetWorld Toolboxes

Integrated Systems Design
SpreadsheetWorld encourages “Team Collaboration”. SpreadsheetWorld and our Strategic Partners are providing leadership in process, training and tools needed to build an effective team collaboration process. The SpreadsheetWorld team collaboration process emphasizes the use of Excel and VBA as the foundation tool supporting the process. The popularity of Excel and VBA has created a large user base throughout all professions. This fact coupled with the power of Excel makes it ideal for team collaboration. SpreadsheetWorld currently has three products designed to augment the inherent team collaboration capability built into Excel. The are XLLink, ICEMaker, and Model Integrator.

Team Collaboration
SpreadsheetWorld and our strategic partners are providing leadership in integration solutions, especially for scientific and technical organizations. This is accomplished using a mix of a unique team collaboration process, distributed computing technology, design integration interfaces and automation tools. SpreadsheetWorld encourages “Team Collaboration”. SpreadsheetWorld and our Strategic Partners work with our customers to provide implementation of a team collaboration process supported by the training and tools needed to build an effective integrated design and development team. The SpreadsheetWorld team collaboration process emphasizes the use of Excel and VBA as the foundation tool supporting the process. The popularity of Excel and VBA has created a large user base throughout all professions. This fact coupled with the power of Excel makes it ideal for team collaboration. SpreadsheetWorld currently has three products designed to augment the inherent team collaboration capability built into Excel. ICEMaker® is a server-based application designed to share parameters between separate workstations using a publish-and-subscribe environment which allows team members to actively communicate design and decision parameters. The server database implementation provides built-in support for offline parameter access as well as configuration management support for systems engineers. It is particularly well suited for co-located ICE Room collaborative environments. XLLink® is designed for dynamic interactive parameter links between workbooks over a local area network, or a common Internet server via VPN address. Model Integrator® is a SpreadsheetWorld application which is designed to dynamically share parameters between multiple workbooks and other selected supporting software packages used by team members, especially those exposing object models for external manipulation. In addition, most tools currently used by professionals have some way of communicating with Excel. Model Integrator is SpreadsheetWorld’s tool management toolbox which is designed to better integrate these various tools into the Excel platform to support multi-application projects commanded by Excel/VBA.

XLPowerBooks
This section provides product information on one class of Excel/VBA application formats which SpreadsheetWorld is calling xLPowerBooks. xLPowerBooks are Workbooks which have been designed and developed so that it is a finished product. The user can load the xlPowerBook, provide inputs for a specific scenario and get results. The workbooks could contain embedded equations, embedded VBA functions, have VBA Userforms which provide Graphic User Interface, and all the features of a professionally designed workbook. The user interface could be either worksheets and/or VBA UserForms with Active X Controls. In all cases, the functions and embedded equations in these xlPowerBooks are secured so that they can’t be altered. This security is vitally important to maintain integrity and configuration management of xlPowerBooks offered by SpreadsheetWorld. If the user has changes that they want made to a SpreadsheetWorld xLPowerBook, they should request that SpreadsheetWorld make the change on the next revision.

This format is contracted with SpreadsheetWorld’s xlToolbox format, which are all Excel Add-in Workbooks. As such, they are designed to be used to support development of projects on other new workbooks. They typically provide libraries of functions that can be embedded on other workbooks when the Add-in is installed. Third Party Addins
Excel is a popular platform for developing third-party add-ins for use in Excel. As a result, there is an increasing number of Excel Add-ins becoming commercially available. The format, style and quality of these add-ins can vary dramatically depending on the experience and knowledge of the developer. SpreadsheetWorld provides both Add-in Development assistance to Add-in Authors as well as providing a commercial outlet for marketing and distribution through out website for selected Add-ins.
